Everyone has a story and this webinar is designed to help writers bring it out. If writing a book that tells that story through family recipes, personal triumph, or your life’s journey is one you want to tell, this webinar is for you.

During the first part of our series, author and writing coach Justin McMullen will discuss the book writing process and the preparation needed to create a manuscript for submission to a publisher.  During this Saturday afternoon, we’ll discuss:

  • Selecting or Narrowing Down a Topic
  • Creating the Book Outline
  • Structuring your story

By the end of this webinar you will have concrete steps to begin writing the masterpiece that is inside of you that can be shared with the world.

This webinar is perfect for beginning writers as well as writers who are seasoned.  Those who have an interest in just learning about the process but not ready to write a book are encouraged to attend.

The ABCs of Publishing- Part 2: Getting Your Story Published

ABCs of Publishing - Part 2

Writing a book is only the first part of sharing your story. Now it is time to bring it to life by getting it published.

During this webinar, we’ll discuss the three ways writers go about getting their books published:

Traditional  Publishing – A publisher buys the rights to an author’s manuscript and the author gets an advancement and assumes no financial risk.

Self-Publishing – The writer publishes his or her book without engaging an established publisher and assumes all financial responsibility and also keeps 100% of sales.

Hybrid Publishing – The author pays the publisher fees for services and in return is paid higher royalties.

We’ll also discuss literary agents and their roles as well as when to consider getting one and the process.  Ready to present to a publisher?  We’ll provide some tips on what they are looking for and even more important what to look for when negotiating and signing a contract.

This webinar is perfect for beginning writers as well as writers who are seasoned.  Those who have an interest in just learning about the process but not ready to write a book are encouraged to attend.
